We were approached by the headteacher at the school and asked to design a shelter to protect the children from the elements in their playground.
Old Road Primary School in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
What did we do?
The school required a bespoke shelter to be designed, manufactured and installed in the main playground. We designed the shelter to not only provide protection from the rain but to also include deflect the wind that can gust across the open space. The bespoke curved shelter we designed included a curved polycarbonate roof mounted to a powder painted galvanised frame. The total size of the shelter is 10 metres by 6 metres.
Thanks to the co-operation of the staff and pupils of the school we were able to install the shelter within a couple of days by using safety barriers to cordon off the area of the playground we were working in.
Duration of project
The install took one week.
